October is National Principal Appreciation Month! Jim Zimmerman has worked in education for 12 years and says he really enjoys interacting with students at lunch, during passing periods, clubs and sports and values the conversations. Thank you, Jim Zimmerman, for all that you do! #YourCommunitySchools #ThankAPrincipal

Talk about the power of relationships! Last year, Edison Band teacher Jill Carr mentored South senior Chloe West in the Intro to Education class. Chloe is currently a student at ISU with a double major in music education and performance. Mrs. Carr was able to catch up with Chloe for a moment last Saturday before she performed on the school's football field.

Monday after practice, the 8th grade Edison girls volleyball team headed to the high school to cheer on the WWSHS volleyball team as they played against Barrington.
It was a fun team building opportunity and a chance to watch an exciting volleyball match.
Thank you to all the parents who helped organize this team outing!

What a great message from a bulletin board at Washington Elementary! Students who attend school regularly typically demonstrate higher learning outcomes than those with poor attendance. Being present each day affords students all the important experiences that come with attending school, such as friendships, clubs, and activities. Students also learn responsibility and work ethic through consistent attendance. #YourCommunitySchools

💡Today was a great day FPLA6!🐾
📘Mrs. Ryan’s students finished their first class novel, Where the Mountian Meets the Moon by Grace Lin.
They celebrated with some light snacks inspired by events in the novel and played a fun game where they used quotes from the text. 📖
