Fall Intramurals have started at FMS! Intramural Soccer- Monday through Thursday in the fall, from 3:05 - 4pm. Mr. Boucher is the sponsor. See him in room 211 for info. Intramural Flag Football- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until early October. Mr. Bonnamy is the sponsor. See him in room 308 for info.

After Hours will begin this week on Thursday and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday. Students can come to the LLC right after school until 4pm to work on homework, group projects, or even take tests or quizzes. Students interested in After Hours should ask a teacher to email Ms. Brice AND Mrs. Gorrity before the end of the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays to let them know of their attendance at After Hours.

Athletic fees- For families whose students are in a sport: Fall athletic fees have been inputted. You can log-in and pay online through www.pushcoin.com. District 200 School Community, We have received a few emails from families asking about air conditioning on our buses. Our buses do not have air conditioning unless your child has a health plan that requires transportation on an air-conditioned bus. Drivers will open windows to promote air circulation and students are encouraged to dress for the weather. If your child does not tolerate heat well, parents may want to consider driving to/from school or carpooling later this week. We also encourage families to hydrate outside of school hours and send students to school with water bottles. Parents with specific concerns regarding their own child(ren) may contact their child’s teacher and/or principal. We have pasted the email we sent out earlier today below for reference. We want to inform you about our plans for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff during these periods of high heat. Our schools will use the Child Care Weather Chart below to determine if it is safe for students to go outdoors for recess, P.E. class, or similar activities. If a combination of temperature and humidity results in a heat index in the red category, students will remain indoors. Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South High Schools will follow guidance from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Both of the high schools will provide direct communication to students and families regarding modifications to practices, contests, and game schedules. All middle schools will follow the weather chart recommendations and will communicate directly to their school communities about modifications to their athletic practices. In addition to monitoring the weather, beginning this evening, all District 200 schools will continuously run all air conditioning units through Friday evening to ensure our schools can maintain a comfortable temperature for students and staff. XC Informational Meeting: there will be an informational meeting on Monday, August 21 at 5:00 PM for runners and/or parents on Zoom. If you’ve run with us before, you don’t need to come, but you may. The purpose of this meeting is to let those new to XC learn if it’s a good fit for them, and to set expectations for everyone. Mobile food pantry this Thursday, August 10 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at Monroe Middle School located at 1855 Manchester Road in Wheaton. Teachers never stop learning! This year, in partnership with the WWEA, the District is implementing a New Teacher Mentoring Program! All new certified staff members will be paired with formal mentor who will assist them in adapting to the school climate and culture and guiding them through curriculum, teaching strategies, communication skills, and more. Today, mentors were at the District office for an overview and training. #YourCommunitySchools
