Mrs. Lauren Nielsen, FMS's amazing art teacher, had 3 students accepted into an art show hosted by "This Girls Story Magazine" in partnership with DuPage County Area Project (DuCap Impact)! The theme of the show was "Nostalgia". Congrats to Mrs. Nielsen and to her students!! The pieces are beautiful!

The Illinois 5Essentials School Survey will close for parents on March 29th. We would love as many Franklin parents to participate as possible! 5Essentials rates how a school is performing in areas such as leadership, collaboration, family involvement, support, and instruction. This survey is extremely important in providing schools with feedback from the parent perspective. Please see the attached letter that includes information on how to complete the survey. Mobile food market - tomorrow, Thursday, March 21, from 4:30 - 6 p.m. at Johnson Elementary School in Warrenville. Families will receive a week's worth of groceries at no cost. Congratulations to the Franklin Concert Choir and their director, Mrs. Crystal Forbes! They had the opportunity to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at the Chicago Steel hockey game! Way to go!!

Franklin Middle School hosted the IGSMA District VII, Area 2 Solo & Ensemble Contest on Feb. 24. The event invited band, orchestra, piano, and vocal students from surrounding middle schools to prepare solos and ensembles for adjudicated performances. Franklin, Edison, Monroe, Hubble, Clarendon Hills Middle School, Lisle Jr. High, Avery Coonley, and Wheaton Christian all participated this year! This was an extremely meaningful experience for students because they worked with peers toward a common goal, and received constructive and positive feedback from professional musicians. Thank you to Franklin for hosting and congratulations to all District 200 students who participated in the event! #YourCommunitySchools

We’re excited to announce that beginning on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, all families who enroll their students for the first time in Community Unit School District 200 will do so through our new online registration portal. The following individuals qualify for new student registration: - Any student who has never attended a District 200 school regardless of grade level. - A previous District 200 student who withdrew and is now re-enrolling. - New families enrolling for the current 2023-2024 school year. - Jefferson Early Childhood Center families that are registering for kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Parents/guardians can navigate to our district website (www.cusd200.org) and then click found in the upper right portion of the page to begin the process. Just a quick update about drop-offs: If your child forgets their lunch, you are welcome to drop off their lunch box/bag on the table in the lobby of door 1, however please avoid dropping off fast-food/take-out food for your child's lunch. We try to avoid fast-food/takeout food deliveries for students. Thank you!

Franklin Families, We hope you are staying warm and safe today! Just a reminder that we are still taking attendance on e-learning days. If your child is going to be absent from e-learning for any period, for any reason, please still call him or her in as absent to the attendance line or email lindsay.nauss@cusd200.org Students shouldn’t be calling or emailing themselves in as “absent” on e-learning days. Thank you!

Due to the freezing rain and icy road conditions, especially on side streets and untreated surfaces, all District 200 schools will engage in an e-learning day today, Jan. 23. Students in grades 1-12 will follow the e-learning schedule that can be found here. All students should login to Google Classroom by 9 a.m. to receive assignments and Google Meets links. Kindergarten and early childhood students should follow the plan that has been communicated by their teacher. Coaches and/or sponsors communicate the status of any after school or evening activities with families later today. Barring any additional travel challenges or inclement weather, school will be back in session on Wednesday, Jan. 24. With that said, we encourage you to continue monitoring e-mail, social media and the district’s family of websites for updates about the weather and its impact on our operations. We recognize that this month has brought a number of severe weather events that have forced us to engage in e-learning, which creates additional challenges for our parents/guardians, students and staff. Your understanding, cooperation and resilience are greatly appreciated as we navigate these challenges together. Please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) with any questions. CONGRATS to our Wrestling Bulldogs!! They finished 4th as a team in the IPAC tournament over the weekend! The team had 2 champions, 4 third places, and 4 fourth places. WAY TO GO on an amazing wrestling season!! Congrats as well to Coach Bendis and Coach Ewoldt!
